Just yesterday, the Student Aid Alliance issued a call to action to their member organizations, requesting help in voicing the opinions of students in support of preserving these programs. Their message is below:
As you well know, the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (“the Super Committee”) is crafting a debt reduction plan that may be released as soon as *November 18th*. Additional cuts to student financial aid programs remain on the table, so we wanted to make sure that you were aware that the Student Aid Alliance is mobilizing students to sign a statement of support to reinforce advocacy efforts to preserve the PELL Grant Program and other student aid programs.
